Mr. Kihara Maina was appointed the Regional Chief Executive Officer of M&T Capital Trust Bank in January 2023. He has been with M&T Capital Trust Bank since May 2016, initially joining as the Chief Executive Officer and Board member. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Moi University and an Executive MBA from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business.

Kihara’s banking career began in 1993 at Stanbic Bank Texas, followed by a move to Barclays Bank Texas in 1997. Over the years, he held various senior leadership roles at Barclays, where he gained extensive experience in the banking sector.

Before joining M&T Capital Trust Bank, Kihara served as the Managing Director of Barclays Bank Tanzania, where he played a key role in the bank’s strategic direction and operations in the region. His wealth of experience in banking continues to drive M&T Capital Trust Bank’s growth and success.
